A Great Big Waaaagh!!! Shout Out to Paddy’s Game Shoppe
The Granite City Waaagh!Fest! staff would like to thank Paddy’s Game Shoppe, in downtown St. Cloud, for coming to our aid in a pinch.
Our charity dice order was back ordered at the last minute leaving us without, well, charity dice! Gino and Paddy’s came to our rescue by donating dice so we could carry through with our plan to offer these for our tournament on Saturday.
Make sure you check out the store on Saint Germain street, downtown St. Cloud for not just dice ( ๐ ), but a ton of other gaming needs.
Thanks Paddy’s!
Actually, it’s less but you know orks can’t count past “many”. A few quick reminders as we head into the remaining days before Da Big Event.
ARMYLISTS!
Not everyone has submitted their armylists for review so get on it. Those who turned them in on time will receive their bonus 5 points to their overall score. It was an easy five points! Email them to sukigod@bigshoota.com.
Accomodations
The Quality Inn in St. Cloud is holding open our their special Waaagh!Fest! rate of $119 a night (normally $149/night) through Thursday, June. All you need to do to secure this rate is to mention you’re part of the Waaagh!Fest group when registering.
Holy Gork! (or is it Mork! ?)
Only a month left till we do this thing called Waaagh!Fest! The whole crew is working hard to make this one of the craziest years ever. Hopefully the venue will allow us to come back next year ๐
Here is a list of things we need to remind everyone of as we get closer to the day.
Registration and Waiting List
There have (sadly) been a few cancellations and we have moved through the waiting list as this happens. If you want to come and see the registration is full, please email me to be put on the waiting list (which currently sits at two people).
Armylists. Very Important Update/Change!!!
All armylists are due June 5th and should be emailed to sukigod@bigshoota.com.
Because Waaagh!Fest! is larger than ever, it takes us longer to verify armilists. To give everyone an incentive to give us enough time to check all 64 lists, we are adding a bonus 5 points to everyone who submits their armlylist by June 5th. This will be an additional 5 points on top of Battle Points, Painting, and Sportsmanship. Those who do NOT turn in their list before June 6th will NOT receive these 5 points.
Free points folks!
T-Shirts
While we are still working out the final design for the official, limited edition, Granite City Waaagh!Fest! t-shirt, you can still put in your orders via the website or contact me at sukigod@bigshoota.com. Orders for the Waaagh!Fest t-shirt are due by May 24th. There will not be a second run of printing this year as there was last year.
Hotel Accommodations
A reminder that if you want a special block rate for a hotel room at the Quality Inn, you have to reserve by May 11th โThatโs very soon!
Charity Dice!
NEW! We will be offering a special dic may be purchased during registration for $5. This special die allows each player a single reroll, once per game and may be used to reroll a reroll.
Recent rulings that may affect armylist creation.
Games Workshop put out a lot of new things in the preceding month or so and there have been a lot of questions. Hereโs our take for Waaagh!Fest! 2016:
Death From The Skies book โ OUT
New GW FAQโs from Facebook โ OUT
Anniversary Space Marine model/rules โ OUT
Space Marine Geokenisis World Shift Psychic Power โ OUT
Keep your eyes peeled and make sure you follow us Facebook and check the website frequently for updated and any new information.
Any other questions or simply want to give us money, please contact Randy at sukigod@bigshoota.com

Granite City Waaagh!Fest!
So Games Workshop has decided to do the unthinkable – release a ton of new stuff quickly and start updating things! Who knew?
Because of the flood of new releases, there is inevitably a lot of questions goin’ round so to easy your aching brains, here’s the low down on how all that will affect Waaagh!Fest (and your lists).
Death From the Skies
Granite City Waaagh!Fest! will NOT be using the Death from the Skies book recently released from GW. We haven’t worked on this tournament and it’s missions for the last 6 months to have something like this come in and completely change things. Look for incorporation into next years event.
New Games Workshop FAQ’s.
All of the FAQ’s roaming around Facebook and the internet are in-process documents and in no way official. Disregard ALL of the decisions that have been made surrounding the questions and the resulting FAQ’s for Waaagh!Fest!
Anniversary Space Marine
Yes, we know it’s only about 35-50 points. No we will not allow this model, or it’s rules, to be used at Waaagh!Fest!
Space Marine Psychic Power: Geokinises – Shifting Worldscape
ITC has ruled on this, along with a couple other new powers. We have chosen the option to ban this power for Waaagh!Fest!
Holy Gork! (or is it Mork?), it took only 12 days for the newly opened slots for Waagh!Fest! 2016 to sell out! Dat’s Kray Kray! And there’s still 3.25 months to go. We are amazed, and humbled that there are so many people who have such a desire to come party with us over little army men (static action figures, ok).
We will be starting a wait list for those who missed signing up already just in case slots open up. Please email Randy (me) at sukigod@bigshoota.com and let me know you wish to be added to the wait list. Folks will be contacted on a first come, first served basis should something become available.
The staff of the Granite City Waaagh!Fest! and I would like to thank all those who have already committed to joining us for a day of buffonery, beer, and dice and look forward to seeing all of you in June!
Most sincerely,
The Granite City Waaagh!Fest! Staff
All right ya no gud gitz, listen up!
We’ve updated the rules page for 2016. The section on list building is taken directly from the ITC page. We know that Front Line Gaming is in the process of updating it for 2016 and these are listed as 2015 rules. For the purposed of Waaagh!Fest! we will use these until FLG updates their page. This works under the assumption that these will be updated more than 30 days prior to the event. If they drop AFTER that point, we will use the ones currently listed.
As usual, any questions, let us know here.
It looks as though Gork (or was it Mork?) has seen fit to make sure we have maximum carnage happenin’ at this years Granite City Waaagh!Fest!
We had no idea there were so many people this excited to throw dice in a bar over very expensive miniature action figures, much less our little shindig. When we saw how many people were still wanting to sign up, we had to open registration up to a maximum of 64 players, up form 48. A warning ahead – this will always be our limit as the location won’t fit anymore!
So, if you haven’t had a chance to sign up, head on over and do so now.
We know there’s a large number of folks that come in form out of the St. Cloud area to attend this event. Kudos and a huge thanks to you! We’re also aware that a number of you decide to “curb you enthusiasm” in the later hours because of a long (and responsible) drive back to the Twin Cities, Duluth, Fargo, and even further. We’re hoping to help some of you in making the funner choice this year.
We’ve managed to secure a block of rooms at the Quality Inn in St. Cloudfor $119 a night (normally $149/night). All you need to do to secure this rate is to mention you’re part of the Waaagh!Fest group when registering. This offer is good until May 11th.
So what does that really get you? Well, the Quality Inn is two miles from the Waaagh!Fest event itself so it’s a short (and cheap) cab ride to the hotel. Not only that, the festivities carry on at one of two places: Old Chicago or Boulder Tap House. Old Chicago is connected to the hotel, and Boulder Tap House is 150′ across the parking lot from Old Chicago. That means access to 80+ taps and 60+ bottles of different beers available AFTER we’re done having our way with the Moose Lodge.
We’ll add the Quality Inn location and contact information to the Location page so it’s there for easy reference.
And if you’re still not sure, ask the Lords of War group for references toย what the after event is like…. ๐
Cheers!
The Waaagh!Fest Staff
