FAQ

Mar-4-2011

A random collection of questions that bear repeating so we're posting them here with the answers/explanation.

I don't have a Paypal account (or don't want to pay that way). Is there another way I can pay for the event?

If you don't want to use Paypal for whatever reason, you may pay for the tournament the the day of during check in. We're only excepting cash if you pay that way though. We have no way of taking credit cards and honestly, don't want the mess of checks. There is an ATM at McCann's so you can always access that for cash.

I'm under 21 but still want to come and watch. Can I?

I've heard this one more than once. We have 8 colleges within 10 miles of here and I know there's many people who play who are out of high school/in college but not yet old enough to legally drink.

You do have to be 21 to register and play in the tournament. This is to safeguard McCann's and the tournament organizers. However, McCann's is a full service restaurant and thus has the normal establishment rules of "minors" being allowed unescorted until 9pm.

Another important bit of information is we haven't "bought out the bar" which means the general public will still be able to come and go as they please. This means you can come and watch as long as you follow the establishment rules. The Waaagh!Fest staff doesn't mind either, as long as the observers don't interfere, offer advice or other wise distract the players during their tournament matches. In between games is fine and fair game.

I can't attend but have paid already through Paypal. What is your policy on refunds?

Because of the way the finances work for running an event like this we cannot refund attendees payments. As people register and pay for Waaagh!Fest the money is already being used to support the event. Prize support, marketing, trophies and awards are being drawn up and ordered/manufactured. All of these things take money that is needed before the event. Without this ther would be nothing to give away at the event.

If you are worried about a last minute change in plans, there are a couple things you could do. You could sign up and pay at the door, or contact me as soon as you know and I can see if I can set up a replacement and you two could work out a deal where the alternate player could just pay you for the slot you've already paid for. The key to this working is letting me know as soon as you know you won't be able to attend. If you've already paid, I'll inform the next alternate player and let them know this so they can work something out with you.
